Straw Fireworks
You will need:
7 Flexible Straws
Paint
White paper
Directions:
Start by stretching out the straws as far as they can go and group them together in your hand. Spread out the top of the straws so they are sticking out. Have someone put a piece of tape around the bottom of them as you’re holding them. Let go and put another piece right under the top.
Have the kids dip the straws into blue paint first and stamp it all over the paper. If the paint doesn’t show up great, have them press each straw individually against the paper. Add some red paint and your fireworks are done! Add some glitter if you want some sparkle to them.

Thanksgiving Turkey Craft
Materials:
1 small white dessert paper plate
Paint or Foam brush
Googly Eyes
Scissors
Candy Corn
Different colored construction paper
Tacky Glue
Markers
Washable orange paint
Stapler
Thanksgiving or fall foam stickers (optional)
Make It: Paint the bottom of the small plate with the orange paint.
Trace one of your child’s hands with a pencil on construction paper and cut. This will be the turkey’s feet. Use tacky glut to glue googly eyes and the candy corn to the empty toilet paper roll. Using different colors of construction paper, cut shapes that are similar to feathers. You can make between six and ten. Talk to your child about Thanksgiving and about things that we are thankful for. Write one thing they are grateful/thankful for on each feather. Staple the feathers around the top of the plate with the words facing up to make the turkey’s tail. Use tacky glue to glue the empty toilet paper roll onto the paper plate. Apply some tacky glue around the thin bottom of the empty toilet paper roll and set it on the traced hand print.
Optional: Stick Thanksgiving or fall foam stickers on the orange plate.

Paper Plate laced Christmas Tree Craft
Materials:
Make It: Start by painting your paper plate green. Let it dry completely. When your paper plate is dry, cut it into thirds, then cut one of the section a bit smaller. When you layer them together with the smallest one on top, you have a Christmas Tree shape. Use your hole punch to punch six (6) holes across the bottom of each paper plate section. Cut a 12-inch section of ribbon for each paper plate section and lace them through the holes. Start by bringing the ribbon up from the back of the paper plate into the first hole and then continue through the holes, finishing with the excess ribbon hanging off the back of the paper plate. Tape the excess pieces of ribbon to the back of the paper plate to hold them in place. When you are finished lacing all your pieces, use a stapler to staple them together into your Christmas Tree. Finish you Christmas Tree by stapling (or gluing) on a brown tree stump cut out from your brown paper and adding a foam star sticker at the top. Glue on any sequin or embellishments that you would like to decorate your Christmas Tree. Here is my 4-year olds Christmas Tree above. She chose to add sequins and little jewels with a silver star on top. Such a beautiful piece of artwork to display for the holiday!
